Purchasing a puppy
Thank you for your interest in our beagle puppies.
Please send us an e-mail with the information requested below (copy, cut and paste into an e-mail) and let us know which puppy you are interested in. (info@beagleridgekennel.com)
A $100 (non-refundable) money order is required to reserve the puppy. (pups are $450)
Please make sure you are ready for a commitment of extra time, love and money (vet and maintenance)for your new family member. In an effort to make sure that you are making the right decision for you and the puppy please consider the following.
1. Puppies take a lot of time and effort for the first 6 months to 1 year for training.
2. You will not sleep through the night for the first 6 months of the puppy arriving. They have to get used to you and your house and they whine a lot and have to go out to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
3. Puppies have a lot of energy and will run around and need a lot of play time (with you).
4. You won't be able to leave the puppy in a crate for 8 or 9 hours while you are at work. They need to go to the bathroom every 3-4 hours.
5. Puppies need constant supervision so they don't chew on things they aren't supposed to or have and accidents, but you need patience because there will be some accidents.
Also please remember we will always want our dogs back if it doesn't work out.

As soon as we receive your request for a puppy, we will call you to finalize the agreement and then you will need to send the deposit to hold the puppy so we can mark your puppy “sale pending” on our website.
A couple weeks before picking up your puppy, make plans for the final payment and purchase all the items you need to bring your new puppy home.

When you pick up your puppy you will need:
-A small collar and leash,
-Two short and heavy flat-bottomed bowls for food and water,
-Pet carrier or crate,
-Rawhide chews are good to have.
-Baby wipes or a couple of wet washcloths or paper towels. Along with a plastic bag to keep the soiled items.
-A clean towel or something soft and cuddly to put into the carrier for your drive home.
-High-quality puppy food is essential for the first few months of development.

We no longer recommend Iam's, Puppy Chow, Pro Plan, Pedigree, Beneful, Science Diet or Eukanuba after more research into the subject. Many of these have corn, animal by-products, brewer's rice, low-grade "animal" proteins in the main ingredients. Also look out for BHA and BHT as a preservative as they can be cancer causing.
It turns out almost all the dog foods that you see on TV are not really the best food for your dog. Because the foods are mass produced by big companies (for-profit) they use a lot of things in dog food that you wouldn't let your dog eat.
We recommend that you do not buy dog food in mass mart stores or even Pet Smart as they don't have the best choices available even though they are well advertised and expensive. Please see your local pet store owner and talk to them about what food is best for your dog. Meat  (not by-products) should always be the first ingredient.
This link is helpful but not all dog foods are listed.

We are using Canidae All Life Stages and will send a small bag home with your puppy.
We also would suggest you can try the following-although we don't use them research shows them to be good.
Evo, Innova, Premium Edge, Solid Gold, Diamond Naturals (no by-products, no corn), Wellness, Artemis, California naturals
Eagle Holistic, Chicken soup for the dog lover's soul, Natural Balance. (If you do need to buy the food at Pet Smart the brands: Blue Buffalo, Authority Harvest Bake (not regular Authority), Nutro Ultra Holistic Nutrition and Nutro Natural (but not Nutro Max) seem better than the other dog foods available there).

Please choose the dog food your puppy will be on permenantly before you pick him/her up and then mix that food with the Canidae until they have a chance to adjust to the new food.

When you pick up your puppy we will provide:
-AKC registration papers
-A folder of helpful puppy information
-A copy of their pedigree
-A copy of their health records
-Health guarantee
-A final bill of sale
-A small bag of Canidae puppy food.
Guarantees
All dogs bred and sold by Beagle Ridge Kennel will be honestly represented and evaluated as accurately as possible at the time of sale. All puppies are checked by a veterinarian around 7-8 weeks of age to ensure that they are sound and in apparently good health at that time.
If there is something wrong with a puppy that we know of, we will not hide it. Our puppies are checked for hernias, tooth/jaw correctness, eye problems, joint problems, and other normal issues that can be observed in a small puppy around 7 to 8 weeks of age. Since our dogs have been selected not just for dispositions, but also for health, we do not expect to find health problems in the puppies.

Short-term health: Buyers have 72 hours from the time of purchase/exchange of hands to have the puppy inspected by a licensed veterinarian (at buyer's expense). If a puppy is determined to have an unacceptable health problem by the buyer's veterinarian in that time frame that will significantly affect its long-term quality of life (not including illnesses/conditions such as colds, viruses, retained testicles, mange, coccidiosis, worms, etc.), and which is confirmed by the seller's veterinarian, the buyer may return the puppy at the buyer's expense. A refund or a trade for a different puppy of the same gender and approximate price will be arranged. No refunds/reimbursements for travel costs or health care are offered.
Long-term health: Our dogs are all healthy and as far as we know are free of genetic health problems. However, if a puppy develops a genetic health problem within one year of its birth that significantly and negatively affects its long-term quality of life (such as hip displasia or epilepsy), diagnosed by the buyer's licensed veterinarian within that first year of age and that is confirmed with the seller's veterinarian, we want to resolve the issue with you. If both veterinarians agree that the condition was genetic, we may be able to offer to trade a different puppy of similar price and gender. Buyer would pay travel and veterinary costs.

Any medicating or care of any kind that the buyer provides the puppy will be at the buyer's expense.

Refunds/exchanges are only given for puppies determined to have an unsoundness/ unhealthiness that will significantly affect its quality of life that was not preventable, and agreed upon by both buyer's and seller's veterinarians. Injuries received or preventable illnesses occurring in puppies after leaving Beagle Ridge Kennel do not apply to this guarantee. Buyer would pay travel and veterinary costs.
Our dogs will always have a good home: We don’t ever want any of our dogs to end up homeless or at any dog rescue facility or Humane Society type facility. We will take back any of our dogs that have been purchased from us at any time. This does not include any refund but to make sure our dogs always have a good home.

Puppies offered for sale at a reduced price or those given away for free due to a defect are rare. In the event that we have this occur, those puppies are offered "as is," without guarantees.

Our puppies will be dewormed several times, and will have received vaccinations at about seven or eight weeks of age while in our care, and it will be up to the new owner to continue its health program. Until this series of inoculations has been completed at about 16 weeks of age, the puppy should not be exposed to premises known to be or suspected of being contaminated, or to unhealthy animals. Check the Humane Society's website for a list of recommended vaccinations. But, ask your vet for the recommended health care regimen for your geographic location.

Color: We try to predict puppy color accurately, but with some colors (especially ticking, lemon, tan, and red), it is difficult to be 100% correct while puppies are young. We do not guarantee that the color we predict will be correct at the puppy's maturity, and offer no refunds if the color is not correct.

Size: We try to predict puppy size accurately, but it is difficult to be 100% correct while puppies are young. We do not guarantee that the size we predict will be correct at the puppy's maturity, and offer no refunds if the size is not correct. Final size can be affected by gender and nutrition as well as genetics
